A large majority of our everyday habits are formed during our childhoods, however, forming new positive habits are important for success. Although new actions will initially require large cognitive effort, overtime if the act is continually repeated, we can turn the process of taking action into a habitual pattern of behaviour.
It Creates Momentum
As Sir Isaac Newton found – ‘a body at rest tends to remain at rest and a body in motion tends to remain in motion’
It is clear that once we are in the flow, it is much easier to keep the momentum and action going, rather than continuously stopping and starting. As mentioned previously once a habit has been formed it is much easier to repeat the action, creating a positive feedback loop. The positive response from the brain creates an addictive drive which helps motivate the individual to take the next action step.
It Creates Opportunity

Let’s put it this way… if we keep adding the same ingredients we will get the same outcome every time, nothing will change and there will be no progression. Therefore, the only way we can create opportunities for ourselves is by taking action!
